VOLUNTEER AND

ASSIST US TO IMPROVE LIVES

 

Our Volunteers provide more than $370,000 per year of in-kind services.

 

Be a part of our innovative team-based and person-centered approach to caring for our patients, their caregivers and their families – assisting them in regaining their self-esteem and confidence.

 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Receptionist: Greet visitors, answer phones, and answer questions; assist in the office.

Support Groups: Facilitate Support groups for patients and/or caregivers.

Exercise Therapy: Assist clients in performing their exercise routines.

Speech Therapy: Qualified individuals assist in evaluations/interventions; assist with speech practice.

Recreation Therapy: Assist/lead with activities –e.g. arts/crafts, chair yoga, writing, music and dance

Boxing Program: Work with Parkinson’s Patients as they gain strength and dignity; boxing

experience is a plus, but not necessary; must have energy and motivation.

Thrift Shop: Price and place merchandise; sell in the store; arrange displays; receive donations.

Dining Room: Sign in all patients and volunteers; setup and serve lunch

Kitchen Support: Work in our kitchen assisting with food preparation.

Building and Light Maintenance: Assist with deliveries, pickup and light building. Building maintenance.

 

WHERE DO I START?

 

1.   Let our Volunteer Coordinator, Sarah Johnson, know that you wish to volunteer filling in the secure volunteering form, or in-person or by phone 760-323-7676 ext.117.

2.  Take a guided tour of our facilities, discuss the opportunities and complete an application.

3.  Schedule an interview to determine the right position for you. 

4.  Get a start date.
